There's no place like home for Leake Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 69-59 victory over the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans on Thursday. Given the Gators' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Trojans are ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northeast Lauderdale lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Troy Brown, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bj Portis, who went 5-for-8 en route to 15 points.

Leake Central has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Northeast Lauderdale, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.
