Burns dropped their record down to 20-4 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Cherryville Ironmen by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Cherryville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Cherryville's part, Chandler Wooten was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those three hits gave Wooten a new career-high.

As of now, neither Burns nor Cherryville have any future games scheduled.
