Volleyball Game Preview: Northport Mustangs vs. Republic Tigers + How To Watch

Northport is 8-2 against Republic since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will take on the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Republic will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Northport extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Mustangs put the hurt on Curlew with a sharp 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Northport was: they took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-13.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Republic took on Curlew on Thursday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Cougars. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Northport's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Republic, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Northport was able to grind out a solid victory over Republic when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
