Buchanan came tearing into Friday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Clovis East Timberwolves by a score of 61-49. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bears' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 197th).

Buchanan's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Clovis East, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Coming up, Buchanan will head out on the road to challenge Clovis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Clovis East, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Immanuel at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Timberwolves will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
