Basketball Game Preview: River Islands Riptide vs. Ripon Christian Knights

Having just played yesterday, the River Islands Riptide will head out on the road to face off against the Ripon Christian Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

River Islands took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Turlock Christian by a score of 63-52.

Meanwhile, Ripon Christian entered their tilt with Hughson on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They beat the Huskies by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 60-32. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 25 points or more this season.

Ripon Christian's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for River Islands, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

River Islands was taken down by Ripon Christian 70-42 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can River Islands avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
