Sumrall came tearing into  Friday's  matchup with seven straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the West Marion Trojans  a   10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 15 contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
Sumrall got a great performance from  Avery Smith as she  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched.
 At the plate,  Kynnedy Lumpkins was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Ella Robertson, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Sumrall  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Marion only managed six  hits.
Sumrall pushed their record up to 23-5 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Marion, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-4 record  this season.
 Sumrall will face off against Poplarville at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for West Marion, they will square off against Tylertown at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
