Basketball Game Preview: Reed Raiders vs. Galena Grizzlies

The Reed Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Galena Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Reed turned things around against Carson on Tuesday. They walked away with a 57-50 victory over the Senators.

Josh Peterson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 18 en route to 28 points and eight rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Hoffman, who posted 12 points.

Meanwhile, Galena posted their biggest win since December 13, 2023 on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-30 victory over Carson. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-10.

Reed's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15. As for Galena, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-14.

Reed strolled past Galena in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 61-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reed since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
