Basketball Recap: Pine Crest Find Success

Pine Crest won the last time they faced Benjamin, and Rowan Hoffman did his part to make sure it happened again. The Pine Crest Panthers walked away with a 54-43 win over the Benjamin Buccaneers on Friday thanks in part to Hoffman, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 boards. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Karl Mullins, who posted ten points along with seven assists and four steals. Those four steals gave him a new career-high.

Despite the defeat, Benjamin saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Logan Buchanan put up 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffon Alterman, who scored eight points.

Pine Crest's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Benjamin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Pine Crest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 77-76 loss against Gulliver Prep on the 25th. As for Benjamin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-46 win against Palmer Trinity on the 25th.
