After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shelbyville Central, Whitwell was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers by a score of 6-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Brayden Riley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob McCurry, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Whitwell's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Warren County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Whitwell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-3 win against Heritage Christian Academy on the 5th. As for Warren County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Shelbyville Central on the 8th.
