Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bremen). They blew past the Hillcrest Hawks 27-9 on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Braves needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Emma Oganovich was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Oganovich was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elizabeth Ballay, who fired off one home run, three triples, and five runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most triples she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Layla Gonzalez, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Bremen hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in nine consecutive games.
Bremen moved to 9-14 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Hillcrest, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
