Rogers is 0-10 against Start since April of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Rams will venture away from home to take on the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Start took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rogers, who comes in off a win.
While Rogers' victory against Woodward wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Polar Bears 8-6. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Polar Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Da'Marion Allen-Gabriel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs. He has become a key player for Rogers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Ethan Hendrick was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Krall, who earned two runs and three stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Start came up short against Bowsher on Monday and fell 5-2. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bryce Creecy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emari Green, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Start's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-6. As for Rogers, their record is now 4-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rogers has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Start struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Rogers suffered a grim 20-1 defeat to Start in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
