Baseball Recap: Marist Starts Season with Win Against Fenwick

Marist gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Fenwick Friars 2-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the RedHawks as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Aidan Flinn looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Marist saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Hosty, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Looking ahead, Marist will take on Richards at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fenwick, they will be playing at home against Maine South at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
