 The Excel Panthers will head out on the road to  take on  the Straughn Tigers on Thursday. Excel knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Straughn likes a good challenge.
 Excel put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season  on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Straughn as Excel made off with  an  11-1 win.
  Will Thomas made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only one  hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Thomas has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Thomas was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Devin Odoms, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI.  Kolby Sirmon was another key contributor,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with a  stolen base and  an  RBI.
 Excel has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight games,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record  this season. As for Straughn, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
