After a string of five wins, Hampton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Greene Rebels. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 71-55.

Hampton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tuff Robinson, who posted four points and seven assists. Robinson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Fagan, who put up eight points and five boards.

South Greene got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chandler Gamble out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gamble has scored at least a third of South Greene's points. Jase Roderick was another key player, putting up ten points along with seven assists and five boards.

Hampton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 15-7. As for South Greene, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5.

Hampton and South Greene should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Hampton (ranked 136th) will meet Happy Valley (ranked 384th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hampton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.9 points per game this season. Meanwhile, South Greene will face off against West Greene at 8:00 p.m. on Friday up 122 places (103 vs. 225).
