Football Recap: Make It Four in a Row for South Grand Prairie + How To Watch

South Grand Prairie extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping them up to 4-0. They enjoyed a cozy 48-31 victory over the Arlington Colts. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 60-24 loss the last time these two teams met.

Josiah Lucas was his usual excellent self, rushing for 223 yards and four scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 43 receiving yards and one TD. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Daylon Brooks, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Grand Prairie was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 191 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Arlington fell to 3-1. The loss was their first of the season.

Although Arlington took the loss, they still got scores from Max Reviere and Kason Brown.

Coming up, after each having a week off, South Grand Prairie and Lamar will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,073 yards in their previous games. As for Arlington, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sam Houston at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Colts will be up against the Texans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
