Recap: Northside Patriots vs. McIntosh Chiefs

After a 57-14 finish the last time they played, The Northside Patriots and the McIntosh Chiefs decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Northside managed a 7-3 victory over McIntosh on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Northside, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Among those leading the charge was Kingston Rivers, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.

Despite the loss, McIntosh saw an underclassman step up: Brandan Ridley gained 159 total yards.

The victory makes it two in a row for Northside and bumps their season record up to 6-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-7 Drew (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 45% over those games). As for McIntosh, their defeat was their third straight at home , which bumped their record down to 6-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jones County at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. As for McIntosh, they will head out on the road to face off against Harris County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harris County will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
