Softball Recap: Cypress Creek Bears vs. City of Life Christian Academy Warriors
While Cypress Creek didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the City of Life Christian Academy Warriors with a sharp 20-7 win on Thursday. The Bears' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Amanda Cintron made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI.
In other batting news, Cypress Creek let Alondra Lozada and Britney Freitez run wild. Lozada went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Freitez scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
