Soccer Game Preview: Cherokee Bluff vs. Gilmer

The Cherokee Bluff Bears will challenge the Gilmer Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Cherokee Bluff is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Northwest Whitfield a 3-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for Cherokee Bluff.

Meanwhile, Gilmer came tearing into Thursday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 goals), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 9-1 win. It was an even better day for Angelica Castenada as she scored three goals for her team.

Gilmer's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Cherokee Bluff, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.

Cherokee Bluff took their victory against Gilmer in their previous matchup back in March of 2022 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
