Baseball Game Preview: Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones vs. Dobyns-Bennett Indians

Elizabethton is 1-9 against Dobyns-Bennett since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Fighting Cyclones will head out on the road to take on the Indians at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Elizabethton's offense. They fell 4-0 to Unicoi County on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Dobyns-Bennett faced Daniel Boone in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Indians fell just short of the Trailblazers by a score of 7-6. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Dobyns-Bennett's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Elizabethton, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 15-7.

Elizabethton couldn't quite get it done against Dobyns-Bennett in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 7-2. Can the Fighting Cyclones avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
