Basketball Game Preview: Southeast Whitfield County Raiders vs. Dalton Catamounts

Southeast Whitfield County hasn't had much luck against Dalton recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Southeast Whitfield County Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Dalton Catamounts at 6:00 p.m.

Southeast Whitfield County is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were outmatched by Northwest Whitfield and fell 76-28. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 462nd, while the Bruins are ranked 102nd).

Meanwhile, Dalton waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Yellow Jackets 55-32. The Catamounts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 21 points or more this season.

Dalton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points per game. As for Southeast Whitfield County, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Southeast Whitfield County took a serious blow against Dalton in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 64-11. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Southeast Whitfield County was down 36-4.
