Baseball Recap: Boyd-Buchanan's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Boyd-Buchanan dropped their record down to 12-12-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Bradley Central Bears by a score of 7-6. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Caden Henry was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Brodie Lowe also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Bradley Central, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 16-14-1 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 7th.

On Bradley Central's side, Drake Allen looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Allen has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Landon Rogers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boyd-Buchanan will challenge Grace Christian Academy on Thursday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Buccaneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bradley Central, they will head out to challenge East Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
