Baseball Recap: Port St. Joe Takes a Loss

Port St. Joe might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Blountstown who claimed the real prize. Port St. Joe fell just short of Blountstown by a score of 13-12. The Tiger Sharks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

Corban Butts made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jacob Hensley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Port St. Joe's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Blountstown, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Port St. Joe will face off against Franklin County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Port St. Joe's pitchers better be ready for this one: Franklin County has averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Blountstown, they will square off against Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
