Softball Recap: Poteet Takes a Loss

The Poteet Aggies came up short against the Marion Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 17-2. The Aggies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liliana Garzes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Even though they lost, Poteet was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in 14 consecutive games.

Poteet's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Marion, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-3-3 record this season.

Poteet will venture away from home to square off against Cole at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cole is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Marion, they will host Jourdanton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
