Baseball Recap: Petersburg Comes Up Short

Petersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 18-3 to the Abernathy Antelopes.

Petersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Abernathy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-9.

Petersburg and Abernathy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Petersburg (ranked 1027th) will meet Nazareth (ranked 247th) at 11:00 a.m. on March 29th. Petersburg has given up an average of 12.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Meanwhile, Abernathy will square off against New Deal at 5:00 p.m. on March 25th down 955 places (1160 vs. 205).
