Coginchaug Regional entered their tilt with Morgan on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They skirted past the Morgan Huskies 50-47. This was payback for the Blue Devils, who suffered a 61-40 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Maddy Benbow was the offensive standout of the game as she posted 20 points. Sophie Farr was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten steals.

Morgan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sadie Passante, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and six assists. Passante has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddy Grenon, who went 6 for 15 on her way to 16 points.

Coginchaug Regional pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Morgan, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
