Basketball Game Preview: Sundance Bulldogs vs. Moorcroft Wolves

The Sundance Bulldogs and the Moorcroft Wolves will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Saturday, Sundance was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-45 to Big Horn.

Despite the defeat, Sundance had strong showings from Jaylin Mills, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards, and Hailey Karol, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. That was a full 53.3% of Sundance's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Moorcroft was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 59-44 to Wright.

Despite the defeat, Moorcroft saw an underclassman step up: sophomore London McCrea went 9 for 22 en route to 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Those five assists gave McCrea a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lani Gill, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Moorcroft smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wright only pulled down eight offensive boards.

Sundance's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Moorcroft, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything came up roses for Sundance against Moorcroft in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 55-22 win. Will Sundance repeat their success, or does Moorcroft have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
