Baseball Recap: Jordan Wins Going Away Against Dymally

Jordan won against George Washington Prep on Monday with 15 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Dymally Challengers 15-4. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Challengers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Gabriel Ibarra made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Ibarra was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aayvin Sagastume was excellent, firing off two home runs, four stolen bases, and four runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nelson Chavez, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Jordan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Jordan's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Dymally, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jordan will face off against Santee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dymally, they will take on Crenshaw at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.11 runs per game on average), something the Challengers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
