Basketball Game Preview: Cesar E. Chavez Lobos vs. Westside Wolves + Official Tickets

Cesar E. Chavez is 0-10 against Westside since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lobos will venture away from home to take on the Wolves at 6:45 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cesar E. Chavez took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They snuck past Houston Math Science & Tech with a 44-40 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lobos' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1298th, while the Tigers are ranked 604th).

Meanwhile, Westside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three two weeks ago. Everything went their way against the Bears as they made off with a 73-51 win.

Westside's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Cesar E. Chavez, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-7.

Things could have been worse for Cesar E. Chavez, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-38 loss to Westside when the teams last played back in February of 2025. Can the Lobos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
