There's no place like home for Southlake Carroll, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the V.R. Eaton Eagles on Friday, sneaking past 7-6. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Aubree Shelton looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
At the plate, Jordan Stewart was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Petkus, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Southlake Carroll's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for V.R. Eaton, they moved to 7-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
