Recap: Lake Placid Dragons vs. Hardee Wildcats

The Lake Placid Dragons''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Hardee, falling 49-14. Lake Placid was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Lake Placid's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was August Stivender, who rushed for 31 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 182 yards and a touchdown.

Lake Placid has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Hardee, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Placid will take on Mulberry at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. Mulberry is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Hardee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against DeSoto County at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd. DeSoto County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
