Basketball Recap: Willow Comes Up Short

Willow and Istrouma squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Willow had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Istrouma Indians 74-32. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.

It was another big night for Eryn Brown, who dropped a double-double with 36 points and 17 rebounds for Istrouma. That makes it 32 consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Istrouma's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kay'Lee Shepherd, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 boards.

Willow's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Istrouma, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-11 record this season.

Willow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Istrouma, they will head out to square off against E.D. White at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. E.D. White will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Istrouma surely won't give up without a fight.
