Soccer Recap: Valley Vista Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Valley Vista after they claimed the first goal on Monday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell just short of the Tolleson Wolverines by a score of 2-1. The Monsoon were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Valley Vista's goal came courtesy of Jannet Resendiz Martinez, which was the first she's scored this season.

Valley Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-2. As for Tolleson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Valley Vista wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against Shadow Ridge on the 7th. As for Tolleson, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 5-2 victory against West Point on the 7th.
