Basketball Recap: Waco Christian Beats Mercy Prep Academy for Their Third Straight Win

Waco Christian waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 39-29 victory over the Mercy Prep Academy Royals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waco Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zeriya Potts, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Potts has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Dani Hanan, who posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Waco Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds every time they've taken the court this season.

Mercy Prep Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyra Stuart, who earned 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Naomi Youngers, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

The win got Waco Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Mercy Prep Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
