Basketball Recap: Seward Takes a Loss

Seward was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Wahoo Warriors 79-40. The Bluejays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-23.

It was another big night for Dylan Simons, who posted 25 points for Wahoo. The dominant performance gave Simons a new career-high in points. Cody Hesser was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Seward's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Wahoo, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seward will take on Norris at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Norris knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Seward likes a good challenge. As for Wahoo, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elkhorn at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Wahoo is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.8 points per game this season.
