Football Recap: Collierville Beats Craigmont for Their Third Straight Win

Collierville extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Tae Walden Jr. The Dragons breezed past the Craigmont Chiefs to the tune of 61-0 on Friday thanks in part to Walden Jr, who picked up 114 receiving yards and three TDs. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 78 yards.

One reason for the win was Collierville's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by AJ Craft and Fife Awolowo, who racked up six sacks between them.

Collierville's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Craigmont, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collierville will host Lausanne Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Dragons will need to watch out since the Lynx have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. As for Craigmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Millington Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chiefs will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
