Soccer Game Preview: Anacortes vs. Meridian + How To Watch

The Anacortes Seahawks will venture away from home to square off against the Meridian Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Anacortes has five straight wins, Meridian has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Tuesday, Anacortes got the win against Sedro-Woolley by a conclusive 6-1. Anacortes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Sedro-Woolley with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Mailee Hilburn (2), Elliot Davis (2), Mara Salzer, and Maryn Gates.

Meanwhile, Meridian fell victim to Squalicum and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 6-0 to the Storm. While losing is never fun, Meridian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 226th, while Squalicum are ranked 26th).

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 1-13-1. As for Anacortes, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1-1.

Anacortes took their win against Meridian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Seahawks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
