Mt. Vernon entered their tilt with Regina on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Regals a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Regina, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-5.

Mt. Vernon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Regals: the pair will be back at it again later today.
