The Lima Senior Spartans will head out to face off against the Wapakoneta Redskins at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Wednesday, Lima Senior made easy work of Rogers and carried off a 12-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won eight in a row.

Riley Miller was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Wright, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lima Senior kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.2.
Meanwhile, Wapakoneta strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Memorial 8-2. The game was the first time the Redskins have beaten the Roughriders on their field since April 4, 2017.
Grant Jolly made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Griffin Mericle was excellent, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Lima Senior's record now sits at 4-7. As for Wapakoneta, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lima Senior has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wapakoneta struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Lima Senior came up short against Wapakoneta when the teams last played back in May of 2021, falling 6-2. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
