Football Game Preview: Central Springs Panthers vs. South Hardin Tigers

Central Springs hasn't had much luck against South Hardin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Central Springs has given up an average of 32.6 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Central Springs' offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Grundy Center on Friday. They were dealt a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Spartans. Having soared to a lofty 50 points in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Hardin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They breezed past Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS to the tune of 29-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six games by 21 points or more so far this season.

South Hardin found their leader in sophomore Kameron Adams, who rushed for 168 yards and three scores. Adams' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 156 rushing yards.

South Hardin pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.6 points over those games. As for Central Springs, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Central Springs might still be hurting after the 46-21 defeat they got from South Hardin when the teams last played back in September of 2022. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 39-14.
