Baseball Recap: Owego Free Academy's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Owego Free Academy lost against Vestal back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The River Hawks fell 7-4 to the Golden Bears. The loss put an end to the River Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Elijah Lewis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Brace, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Owego Free Academy fell to 1-1-1. As for Vestal, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Owego Free Academy will square off against Norwich at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The River Hawks are facing the Purple Tornado at the right time seeing as the Purple Tornado are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Vestal, they will face off against Ithaca at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
