Recap: Atlas HomeSchool R Rattlers vs. Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions
If the Atlas HomeSchool R Rattlers were riding high off their 48-19 takedown of the Austin Crusaders HomeSchool Crusaders last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Atlas HomeSchool R fell 38-27 to Northern Virginia HomeSchool on Thursday. Atlas HomeSchool R gained 178 more yards on the day, but it was Northern Virginia HomeSchool that made the best of use of them.
Atlas HomeSchool R's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Trent Strachan, who threw for 382 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Hale, who rushed for 138 yards while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.
Gabe Drown was his usual excellent self, throwing for 435 yards and five touchdowns for Northern Virginia HomeSchool. Drown has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sheppard Jones, who picked up 43 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Atlas HomeSchool R has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Northern Virginia HomeSchool, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Atlas HomeSchool R will take on Columbus Crusaders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Columbus Crusaders' defense has only allowed 14.5 points per game this season, so Atlas HomeSchool R's offense will have their work cut out for Atlas HomeSchool R. Northern Virginia HomeSchool will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Lighthouse Christian at 2:00 p.m. on November 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Lighthouse Christian is ranked 207th in Missouri, while Northern Virginia HomeSchool is ranked 206th in Virginia).
