Football Recap: Bingham Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Bingham kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were beaten by the Corner Canyon Chargers 45-0. The Miners have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Even if they lost, Bingham's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Corner Canyon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Helaman Casuga, who threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Weston Briggs, who rushed for 151 yards on only 14 carries.

Coming up, Bingham will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Alta at 7:00 p.m. As for Corner Canyon, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against West Broward at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
