After flying high against Cox Mill last Friday, South Iredell came back down to earth. The Vikings fell just short of the Hough Huskies by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Arilyn Schultz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

South Iredell's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Hough, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

South Iredell has already played their next match, a 15-0 win against West Cabarrus on the 11th. As for Hough, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-0 victory against Chambers on the 9th.
