Gouverneur is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over Ogdensburg Free Academy.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Canton made sure to put some runs up on the board against St. Lawrence Central on Wednesday. The Golden Bears put the hurt on the Larries with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their matchups with the Larries: they've now won eight in a row.

Canton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gouverneur, their win bumped their record up to 17-1.

Gouverneur skirted past Canton 2-1 when the teams last played on May 12th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
