Softball Recap: Ocean Township Extends Winning Streak to Four

Ocean Township came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight games by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Ocean Township's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Point Pleasant Beach, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

Coming up, Ocean Township will square off against Henry Hudson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Admirals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.71 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Point Pleasant Beach, they will face off against Manchester Township at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Garnet Gulls are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
