Union Springs is a perfect 6-0 against Groton since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wolves will head out to face off against the Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Union Springs' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four contests.

If Union Springs beats Groton with 11 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Wolves beat Southern Cayuga on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jack Walters made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Anthony DeAngelis was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Aaron Johnson was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Meanwhile, Groton came up short against Union Springs on Wednesday, falling 11-1. The Red Hawks have struggled against the Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Union Springs pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Groton, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Union Springs' way against Groton in their previous meeting on Wednesday, as Union Springs made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
