Basketball Game Preview: Minooka Indians vs. Oswego Panthers

The Minooka Indians will face off against the Oswego Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Minooka will be strutting in after a victory while Oswego will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Minooka turned things around against Plainfield North on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 47-40. The win was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while the Tigers are ranked 55th).

Madelyn Kiper continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 17 points and five rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kora Kotowski, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Oswego was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 62-52 to Yorkville.

Minooka pushed their record up to 3-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.9 points per game. As for Oswego, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Minooka barely slipped by Oswego when the teams last played back in February, winning 50-49. Will Minooka repeat their success, or does Oswego have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
