With a playoff win on the line, Mendon Unity rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They never let the Griggsville-Perry Tornadoes get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.
Addison Spilker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Jillian Shaffer and Brooke Hickey did most of the damage at the plate: Shaffer went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Hickey got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
