Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Mules vs. Hamilton County Foxes

Fairfield has gone 9-1 against Hamilton County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mules will head out to face off against the Foxes at 4:30 p.m. Fairfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Fairfield came out on top against Carmi-White County on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Mules took their matchup against the Bulldogs 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mules.

Breychan Kovacich was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Easton, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Hamilton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-4 to Flora.

Colby Karcher and Cohen White did some serious damage despite the final result: Karcher went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run, while White went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was White's first of the season.

Fairfield's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Hamilton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12-1.

Fairfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Hamilton County when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mules since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
