Baseball Recap: Northwestern Comes Up Short

Northwestern managed to slip by London the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Warriors came up short against the Red Raiders on Friday, falling 13-3. The Warriors' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Reid Smith and Logan Errett stepped up to the plate in a big way. Smith went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Errett went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Errett has become a key player for Northwestern: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 1-8 otherwise.

Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for London, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Northwestern will venture away from home to square off against Benjamin Logan at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for London, they will head out on the road to challenge Shekinah Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flames have averaged an impressive 11.2 runs per game this season.
